Boost Power of 2015-2016 Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator 3.5L EcoBoost with K&N

Ford Expedition 3.5L EcoBoost turbo V6 Intake System

K&N 63-2595 AirCharger Performance Intake System for the 2015-2016 Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition 3.5L EcoBoost turbo V6

The 2015-2016 Lincoln Navigator 3.5L and 2015-2016 Ford Expedition 3.5L are intended to be the roomiest, and most capable full-size SUV's on the market. They both offer comfortable seating for up to 8 adults. There's as much cargo room as you'd find in a medium sized warehouse. Both of these big land yachts are available with their own unique luxury packages (Expedition King Ranch / Navigator Reserve). And the twin-turbo EcoBoost 3.5L V6 is now the sole engine offered in both trucks. In the 2015-2016 Expedition, the EcoBoost V6 makes 365-hp, 420 lb-ft, and it can tow up to 9,200 lbs. The more expensive 2015-2016 Lincoln Navigator is a bit more powerful at 380-hp / 460 lb-ft, yet towing capacity remains at 9,000 lbs. But if you'd like to make towing and passing people even more effortless, the K&N 63-2595 AirCharger Performance Intake System will add an estimated 6 horsepower and 6 lb-ft of torque. Plus, the increased airflow will make the throttle response on your turbo-truck, a whole lot faster.

The turbocharged V6 in the 2015-2016 Lincoln Navigator 3.5L and 2015-2016 Ford Expedition 3.5 EcoBoost, uses waste energy from the exhaust, to spin little turbines (fans) inside the turbo. This causes an air compressor to force more air into the cylinders, which helps the engine to burn fuel more completely (i.e. make more power). To increase the efficiency and power output of the Ford 3.5 EcoBoost V6, the restrictive factory intake can be replaced with the low-restriction K&N 63-2595 AirCharger Performance Intake System. This will feed more cold air into the turbo compressor, which will produce a more oxygen-rich air charge, and allow the engine to make additional horsepower.

To channel more air to the EcoBoost turbo, the stock airbox is exchanged for a reusable K&N performance air filter, which is surrounded by a sealed air filter heat shield to keep warm air in the engine bay from entering the system. This oversized K&N filter is made from a special oil-treated cotton gauze material that allows considerably more air to enter the intake tube. The sticky cotton fibers can also attract and trap more dirt than a paper air filter, allowing it to achieve 97%-99% filtration efficiency. And thanks to the pleated multi-layer design, this K&N air filter can trap and hold dirt for up to 100,000 miles before it needs to be cleaned (depending on driving conditions of course).

Once the air has been filtered, it flows into a large diameter K&N intake tube that features roto-molded high density polyethylene (HDPE) construction to provide a smooth, unobstructed airflow path. This is the heart of a K&N 63-Series AirCharger Intake System, because it uses an aerodynamically optimized shape with equal-size tubes, to prevent the power-robbing turbulence that occurs as the air bumps around the different sized tubes in the stock intake. The high-flow K&N intake tube also has a built-in fitting for the factory air temperature sensor, allowing for a hassle-free installation (it usually takes around 90 minutes). And once it's installed, you'll be glad to know that this entire K&N intake system is covered by a 10-Year/million mile limited warranty.

K&N verifies the performance gains of each new air intake system using a chassis dynamometer. K&N installed a K&N 63-2595 AirCharger Performance Intake System on a stock 2016 Ford Expedition 3.5L, and the dyno test showed an estimated increase of 6.94 horsepower and 6.32 lb-ft of torque. The additional air provided by the system also enables faster throttle response, along with a more muscular engine sound. But your individual results may vary, due the mileage, modifications, and condition of your specific Expedition or Navigator.
