K&N Air Intake Boosts Horsepower & Torque of 2015 Silverado HD & Sierra HD 6.0L V8

General Motors made significant changes to the 2015 Silverado 2500 HD / 3500 and its mechanical twin the GMC Sierra HD models to improve interior comfort as well as improving ride quality. Carried over from 2014 are the Chevy Silverado 3500 and Sierra 2500HD engine options. While not every Chevy Silverado 2500 HD or Sierra 3500 buyer wants, or needs, the 6.6L Duramax Diesel engine, all Silverado and Sierra HD owners can benefit from a little extra power. For 2015 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD owners who chose to go with the 6.0L gasoline V8 engine, K&N has developed a performance air intake system to provide a guaranteed boost in horsepower and torque as well as improved looks under the hood.
The combination of the mandrel-bent aluminum air intake tube, K&N high-flow oversized conical air filter, and application specific heat shield used in the 2015 Silverado 2500 HD / 3500 and Sierra 2500HD / 3500 6.0L gas V8 air intake system results in healthy power gains. After establishing base line horsepower numbers of a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 6.0L in stock trim, a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 6.0L was then dyno tested with K&N performance air intake 77-3086KTK on K&N’s in-house dynamometer. Horsepower and torque gains were observed throughout the RPM range, with the max estimated gain of 9.54 horsepower occurring at 4,950 RPM and the estimated peak torque gain of 5.44 lb-ft taking place at 3,549 RPM.
