The annual desert race, the Mint 400, is once again upon us. This year K&N is an official sponsor of the great American off-road race. The race itself is held in the desert outside of Primm, Nevada, however there is a whole lot more to this than just the 400-mile race. Kicking things off on Wednesday is the 4 Wheel Parts vehicle procession powered by Odyssey Batteries. Here you can see the 350 race trucks, buggies, and UTVs make their way down the heart of Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Strip to Fremont street. After that is the official Mint 400 kick-off party sponsored by Atomic Liquors.

On Thursday, there are several events happening on Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas. The Method Race Wheels time trials kick things off, followed by the Rugged Radios meet and greet, where you can get autographs from some of your favorite drivers. Throughout the day there will be plenty to do and see. Later that day will be the Method Race Wheels pit crew challenge. Where you see the pit crews competing against each other in a battle against the clock and each other.

Friday kicks off the massive Mint 400 contingency. All of your favorite off-road accessory brands will be showcasing their latest and greatest products to the tens of thousands of spectators in the Fremont East District. This gathering dates back to the 1970s when the Mint 400 was started in front of the Mint Hotel. We will have a booth there and will be unveiling our newest product, the 63-1133 performance air intake for the 2014-2017 Polaris RZR XP1000. Also, we will have have 5-time off-road racing champion RJ Anderson and professional motorcross and Supercross racer Sara Price signing autographs in our booth from 2-4 PM. Swing by the K&N booth to grab an autograph, check out our new products, or just to say hi. Following that is the Mint 400 meet and greet.

Saturday is the day of reckoning. The Limited Race kicks off bright and early at 6 am. As they begin returning around noon, the Unlimited Race heads out. K&N is proud to sponsor some of the racers competing in this year’s The Mint 400. Those include RJ Anderson, Sara Price, the Total Chaos team, Greg Adler, and many more. Following the Unlimited Race is the Mint 400 Party of the Champions at the Hogs & Heifers Saloon.

This year’s event is slated to be one of the best in the history of the event. If you can make it out, we highly suggest it. Even if it is just for contingency on Friday. We will be posting updates following the race, so be sure to check back and see how your favorite drivers did in the race.
